Perfectly organized on 9,200 sq. meters: Success Project MAN

The International Motor Show (IAA) for commercial vehicles is the main international trade fair for the utility vehicle business. An international platform for all who develop, manufacture, or use utility vehicles. The IMS 2004 showcased light and heavy trucks, transporters and buses, trailers and suprastructures for various transport purposes, auto shop and garage suppliers, parts and accessories. Particular to the IMS is the presence of numerous manufacturers of parts and accessories. 700 exhibitors from the supply industry presented their products on 200,000 sq. meters exhibition space.

Fascinating dimensions

At this trade fair, the task at hand was to organize the exhibition stand of our customer, MAN, perfectly. XFAIR pulled 22 km data cable on 9,200 sq. meters exhibition space, coming together in 220 power supply lines.
For the four large catering areas, our specialists employed eventnet's catering system. An extensive solution with 37 WLAN-connected PDAs for order taking was implemented.
16 ISDN connections, and some 160 telephones and 25 fax machines were used for internal communication at the trade fair, and for the connection to the public telephone system.

The small distinctions

The VIP guests were personally bid welcome using a plasma screen wall. To the end that each individual greeting should be spontaneous and live, XFAIR developed a software tool. A discreet highlight, which thrilled not only the VIP guests.

  • Made net infrastructure for the MAN-net available according to customer specifications, 22 km cable and some 220 connections
  • Catering in four large areas of the exhibition stand using PDAs and wireless LAN (37 PDAs)
  • Supplied and installed telecommunication hardware, some 160 telephones, 25 fax machines, 16 ISDN connections connected to the public telephone network using two PMX connections.
  • Access control to the cloak-room by use of PIN and RFID cards, that at the same time serve as name tag and check-in card
  • Software (eventnet) for managing the exhibition stand staff at nine info booths serving 13 clients
  • Ongoing on-site support
