
AMB 2024 — short for the International Exhibition for Metalworking — took place from 10 to 14 September 2024 at the Stuttgart exhibition grounds. Since 1982, the trade fair has offered exhibitors of all sizes a stage every two years to present new products, technologies, services and concepts.



Details about the project implementation
XFAIR was able to support our customer with various features. Once again, the requirements were extensive: from online registrations and hotel management through to two different check-in solutions and meeting room administration — everything was included. The key challenge at this trade fair was not only connecting our software solutions to the customer’s existing tools via interfaces, but also providing visitor tickets and check-in solutions in different variants. This included both real-time attendance for each trade fair day and check-in for different areas, such as the catering area.
Our in-house development team created a permanent interface to the customer’s system and database in order to transfer staff data directly into our web-based Event Management System (EMS) and process it as required — for example, to provide invited visitors with trade fair tickets. The interface was also used to enable our check-in solution. This provided customers with a QR code that staff could use at check-in terminals to sign in and out for the day. The QR code also worked for staff catering in a separate area.
We set up an online registration that customer employees could use as coordinators to enter their stand staff. Based on this data, hotel management was handled via our module in collaboration with an external agency.
In addition, we enabled a digital overview of meeting room occupancy in the catering area to ensure seamless planning of meetings on site. We also configured seven workstations at the information desk so that on-site staff could use our Search & Call system smoothly and connect visitors with the right contacts.
