From 12 to 15 November 2024, topics at electronica on the Munich exhibition grounds included semiconductors, embedded systems, micro and nanosystems, sensors, electromechanics, power supply, system components, printed circuit boards, passive components we could go on for quite a while. In short, electronica is the world's leading trade fair and conference for electronics and has provided an overview of the latest technological developments in the industry every two years since 1964. This year, 3,480 exhibitors from 59 countries took part across 192,000 m² of exhibition space in 18 halls and welcomed around 80,000 visitors. We've compiled XFAIR's key figures in this review.

Details about the project implementation
Our customers at electronica in Munich had different requirements for their exhibition stand management. With XFAIR solutions, the information desk needed to be technically equipped on the one hand, and the meeting rooms managed on the other. Both customers wanted a way to track the presence of their stand staff and/or compliance with room bookings. Capturing leads was given particularly high priority, as was the option to book appointments for event-specific services within a registration.
To ensure the information desk staff could perform their tasks flawlessly, our Tech Team equipped the helpdesk with three phones, tablets and computers. Naturally, the XFAIR software solutions were installed and configured for the customer, and on-site training was provided before the trade fair started. By importing staff data into our customer-specific database, an overview of stand duties and the presence of registered people was always available. The XFAIR check-in was used for this, among other things. Meeting room management could also be structured clearly and handled efficiently using the relevant XFAIR software.
Elsewhere, in the given two-month lead time, our Customer Care team adapted the XFAIR Lead App to the customer's needs. This included further development of our solution to optimise the display of the required data protection texts. In parallel, the online registration was equipped with the check-in module. Since individual check-in required scanning the QR code on the trade fair badge, XFAIR software developers also created an interface (API) to the organiser's database. The option to book time slots within the online registration was implemented via an adapted version of the existing meeting room module. On site, XFAIR provided the stand staff with the iPads prepared for lead capture and the iPhone used for check-in. We also provided smaller technical gadgets such as USB-to-USB-C adapters and a Surface tablet. A stable internet connection across the entire exhibition stand was ensured using a 5G router.

Thanks to meticulous preparations and detail-oriented collaboration, electronica became another positive experience for the XFAIR team in the 2024 trade fair autumn.
On the one hand, the information desk could be used without any problems to connect visitors with the staff responsible for them. A useful addition here was the use of the check-in function, as this meant the availability of each person was always visible to the information desk staff. Any necessary meeting room bookings could be made centrally, ensuring an efficient and coherent trade fair experience when visiting the stand.
On the other hand, the extensive online registration with XFAIR software created a complex tool that made on-site processes straightforward yet seamless: check-in via the trade fair badge and lead capture using the XFAIR app. Throughout the entire trade fair period, we remained on standby and ensured that our customers' staff could fully focus on their tasks.
A successful trade fair appearance for our customers and their satisfaction with our solutions — and above all, with our service — is XFAIR's top priority. That's why we are always happy about positive feedback and every successfully completed project.
