IDS 2025 in Cologne
The International Dental Show (IDS) is held every two years and serves as an industry meeting point where forward-looking technologies for a digitalised and connected dental world are presented for companies, practices and laboratories. In 2025, that meant 2,010 exhibitors from 61 countries across 180,000 m² of exhibition space spread over seven halls. This time, the XFAIR crew was primarily involved on the technical side and delivered at its best.

The Requirements
The customer wanted a high-performance and, above all, redundant network for their exhibition stand at IDS in Cologne. The requirements went far beyond a back-up power supply and included coordinating the various components in stand planning before and during the build-up.
Implementation
Collaboration and repeated coordination with the stand builders and other trades took place not only virtually, but also in on-site meetings. This personal communication ensured a smooth process. In the end, the team spent five days laying the network cables alone. One of the system integrators spent the final four days before the show opened on the final configuration of the installed components.

The Result
In the end, using 243 network cables — almost five kilometres — with 500 endpoints, two firewalls and a back-up power supply, a high-performance and, above all, redundant network infrastructure was built for the exhibition stand.
